Instagram Artists Edition
Happy Friday everyone! I'm gonna keep it light with a few of my favorite artists that I found via Instagram! We are elbow deep in a living room renovation right now (and when I say "we", I mean my husband (Love you, honey)). We are almost ready for paint and after that, we'll be ready for art. Here are some of the artist that I hope to incorporate. If you aren't following them on Instagram, you should!
Sarah Benning (@sarahkbenning)
I love textiles, leafy greens, mid-century modern, and crystals and Sarah's work has it all! This extremely gifted textile artist creates wonderful contemporary embroidery scenes with cacti and palms and a retro vibe. She also has a line of crystals in an array of colors that would look great in any home! And for those of you who are crafty and want to try one of Sarah's patterns yourself, you can even join her Monthly Pattern Program. See more here.
Lulie Wallace (@luliewallace)
Lulie's whimsical paintings and drawings of flowers are what drew me into her work. She uses lots of color and patterns to create fairly large semi-abstracted scenes. However, her newest work is what has my eyes turning into hearts. She did a nap time alphabet drawing series of animals (named for the drawings she did while her daughter napped) and they are beautiful. My favorite is S is for Swan (see below), which can be purchased in a print form on her website. She also has a line of scarves, baby blankets, lunch boxes, and home fragrance with patterns that she's designed on them. Check out more of Lulie's work here.
Jenny K (@livingpattern)
As I already mentioned, I love leafy greens! So, it's no surprise that I would be drawn to Jenny's wonderful watercolors and prints of palms and cacti. This botanical artist paints "studies" of a wide variety of plants. I love the simplicity and I think a few large studies framed on a big wall would be stunning! Her work sells quick, so make sure you're following her to find out when new work is available. See more of Jenny here.
What artists do you follow? Who's work do you have on your walls? I'd love to know! Leave me a note in the comments and have a great weekend!
