While the gals were all together last week, we decided to do a little interview with one another. We drew names and I got Emily. I don't know if I spend time with anyone other than my Mister and Emily, so I wasn't surprised by her answers. I hope this gives you a little picture into who's posts you read each week.
1. So you grew up near Cape Cod, Massachusetts but you found yourself in Asheville. How did that happen?
I attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In the first month or so of my freshman year I was doing my laundry in the dorm. I really cute guy came in to do his laundry. He had dimple and a butt chin and wore his collar up...I was smitten. We officially started dating later our freshman year and have been inseparable ever since. Hubby Andy was born and raised in Asheville and after visiting all those years in college I knew it was a place I could land. Since moving to Asheville in 2006, it has changed tons...in every way I love. Food, shopping, real estate. I love Asheville's weather-4 seasons and the mountain views...I never get tired of them. I truly believe I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
2. Who would you want with you if you were stranded on deserted island?
I went through the names of friends, family but have landed on Andy who is both-my best friend and my family. Not that this does not come with reservations...I have been trying to convince him to take a trip on a Winnebago with me and he keeps saying..."nah".
3. How would your friends describe you?
Here is how I hope they would describe me: generous, kind, funny, creative, loving
4. What is the best/worst gift you have ever received?
Both necklaces. Both from Andy. The worst was back in 2009 for my b-day. It was this wild chain necklace that would have been beautiful on another woman. However, I have been blessed? with a thicker neck so it made me look like a linebacker. I did not recieve another piece of jewelry from Andy until my bday this year. Guess what? another necklace and I love it!
5. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I have always loved to teach. I started as a skiing and snowboarding instructor, then sailing instructor, and then a classroom teacher. I think I continue to build that love of teaching and am pushing it into a more creative avenue by sharing my other love of experimenting in the kitchen and sharing my recipes.
6. If you had to live with one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
This Magic Moment-the Lou Reed version
7. What is the last thing you took a picture of?
Francis...the most beautiful chihuahua mix to have ever graced this planet.
8. What chore around the house do you absolutely hate doing?
Vacuuming is the worst.
9. If you could witness an event in the past, present, or future, what would it be?
I can not and will not answer this question. 1st of all...I have the worst memory. 2nd of all, I really live in the moment...right? Gosh...no no no...like what would I say? JFK's assassination...ridiculous...aliens landing on Earth-well that's kinda good. I do really want to know what Francis's parents look like. That's what I pick. Fran's parents.
10. When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time?
I read food magazines on my screened in porch...preferably with wine.
I know i was only supposed to ask 10, but I just have to know a few of these:
Coffee or tea? coffee in the AM, tea after 3
Hot or Cold? hot in the winter and fall, cold in the summer and spring
Dog or Cat? Absolutely Dog
Exciting or Calm? Calm
Dog or cat? Still Dog
Mountains or beach? Beach
Summer or Winter? Both-I really do love the seasons and could not live in a place with out them.
