As Mother's Day approaches, I have been reflecting on how much my mother means to me. I think that each of the gals from Across Our Table would agree that a great deal of our inspiration and interests were sparked by our mamas. Whether we were learning the "rule of three" when decorating around the house, how to add the perfect amount of sugar to a recipe, or how to accessorize a white collared shirt, we each take so many pieces from the women who brought us up. Even if we don't always want to admit it, our fashion, home decor, cooking, and artistic endeavors were honed by our mothers. The bits of advice that we each learned from our growing up years have certainly become a part of our mantras to this day.
I love that out of the 4 of us, I am not the only one who still calls my mom when something funny happened at work, I feel hurt, or I just need to vent. I know that each of us consider our moms to be our very best friends and confidantes. They know how to build us up when we are feeling down, empower us to go beyond our comfort zones, and instill values that will stick with us for life.
I guess this blog post is just a thank you to our moms who go above and beyond to nurture, encourage, inspire, and support us. We love you very much!
