Pasta from the Farmers Market

Boy do I feel like I hit the jackpot this week at Asheville's Farmer's Market.  A friend suggested I check out Rio Bertolini's Fresh Pasta, a vendor who sells all types of fresh pasta, pre-made dishes, pizza dough, and even sauces. They sell their product at 17 markets in the southeast and are based out of Charleston, SC.  Anticipating the busy work week ahead, I went with their pre-made lasagna bolognese and cheese tortellini with their tomato basil sauce.  Check out below for how it all came out...

The pasta is beautiful, seriously beautiful!  I am very excited to sample them all and create sauces to pair with them all...stay tuned for those recipes!

Tortellini with Tomato Basil Sauce

Okay, any sauce that begins with San Marrzano tomatoes is fine by me!

Fish out the tortellini when they float to the top of the boiling water and then add to the sauce to finish.
