It's no secret that I love to wear black! My daughter says my favorite color is black (it's actually purple, but close) because that's pretty much the only color I wear, along with gray, white, navy, blush, and a few surprise pieces that don't get worn much. To me, it's the easiest color to wear. Black goes with everything and looks good on everyone. It can be casual or fancy.
I would consider myself a connoisseur of black dresses. I have a handful of them. So today, I am going to share with you my favorites!
I bought this dress a few weeks ago and I have been living in it! It's so soft and easy to wear. You can belt it to show off your waist or just let it swing. I pair mine with thong sandals for a dressier look or slip on sneakers for a casual look. Add a jean jacket for cooler nights.
I bought a dress very similar to this one earlier in the season and I love it. This one is super light and airy because it's made out of a gauze material, so it may require a slip, but it's perfect for those hot summer nights that we get here in Charleston! I pair mine with flat sandals or mules and a pashmina for cooler nights.
I just bought this dress last week to wear to a wedding this weekend and I am so in love with it (yes, I wear black to weddings)! It is a perforated fabric (it's lined) that falls below the knee and has pockets. It slips on over the head and is super comfortable and easy to wear. I am pairing mine with either wedge strappy heels or booties and a vintage gold belt.
I don't just limit myself to all black. I have a few dresses with patterns on them too. I like how this one draws the eye to the lower half of the body (that's my smaller half), but the solid top half gives your eyes a break from the busy pattern. Plus, who doesn't love a DVF dress? I would pair this one with solid pumps in a fun color and a simple necklace.
This maxi dress is lovely! It can be worn multiple ways (follow the link to see), it's made out of a stretchy and comfortable fabric, and it has an open back. I like to wear maxi dresses with flats or low heels, depending on the occasion, and some large, simple earrings.
A girl can dream....This dress is beautiful! I love the silver accents and the sheer fabric on the collar. I love the fit, the sleeves and the length. I would pair this dress with black D'Orsay pumps and some pretty stud or drop earrings.
