A couple of years ago my Mom when to get a facial and her esthetician suggested she try washing her face with baking soda. Mom then passed on that recommendation to yours truly, a.k.a. the sensitive skin queen.
I gave it a try and boy was I blown away! It made my skin feel clean, exfoliated, and silky smooth! Ever since then I have been using it daily.
All I do is pour a little baking soda in my hand, and then gently massage the baking soda into my skin using a little water. I stress the word gently here because baking soda is a bit abrasive and will exfoliate your skin, so you don't want to go overboard with the pressure. I have also mixed baking soda with gentle skin cleanser like Cetaphil, and that works great too.
If you feel like you need a deeper clean, you can mix the baking soda with a little water to create a paste. Then apply the paste to your face like a mask and let sit for a few minutes. It's so refreshing!
I'm no skincare expert, but I think baking soda helps even my skin tone and prevent pesky breakouts. Nothing has ever made my skin feel so clean and soft. At $1-$1.50 a box, why not give it a try?
Thanks for reading!
PS- If you do choose to try this cleansing method, do a spot test on your arm first to make sure your skin reacts well to it. Happy cleansing!
